Ä¢¹½Ä¢¹½ Breaks
UNA Residence Halls and Apartments DO NOT close for Ä¢¹½Ä¢¹½ breaks including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring Break. However, you are responsible for the following information if you will be leaving for a portion of the time or not returning for Spring semester. Please read the applicable sections carefully.
If You Are Going Home For Just A Few Days...
- Take out your trash
- Wash your dishes
- Unplug unnecessary electrical items
- If your room is not properly cleaned, you will be charged a cleaning fee
If You Are Going Home For The Majority/Entire Break...
- Take out your trash
- Wash your dishes
- Unplug unnecessary electrical items
- Clean out your fridge.
- If your room is not properly cleaned, you will be charged a cleaning fee
Official Check-Outs
- You must OFFICIALLY check out of the residence halls if you are NOT RETURNING to the residence halls for Spring 2026.
- Approved Reasons for Checking Out: Graduating, Transferring, Withdrawing
- All non-graduating students must check-out by December 1th @ 4pm.
- All graduating students must check out by December 14th @ 4pm.
If You Are Officially Checking Out...
- Remove all personal belongings.
- Clean your room and living room/bathroom/kitchen* (if applicable*).
- Reset your furniture to its original placement.
- Complete the above tasks and return your key to Housing & Residence Life. There is a lock box available 24 hours per day in the HRL entryway (Rivers Hall Ground Floor). You must complete the envelope in full and seal your key inside.
- If you do not follow the above instructions, you will be charged a $150 unofficial check-out fee, $85-$2000 lock change fee, and a cleaning fee as determined by condition of your assigned space.
Housing Contracts
All residential contracts are for one academic year (August 2025-May 2026). You will be charged for your assigned room/apartment during Spring 2026 unless you meet one of the criteria listed below:
- You are graduating, transferring, or withdrawing from UNA.
- You are student teaching, interning, or have another academic obligation that requires relocation.
